Study Group Leaders

Remarkable People, Remarkable Learning

Every great learning experience starts with a great leader

At ILR, our Study Group Leaders are the spark that makes it all happen — bringing knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm to everything they do.

What are Study Group Leaders?

Study Group Leaders — or SGLs — are the heart and soul of ILR. They are the teachers, guides, explorers, and enthusiasts who bring our curriculum to life each semester. From leading a lively discussion on current events to guiding a hike through a scenic trail, demonstrating a beloved craft, or uncovering a hidden gem of a restaurant, our SGLs make every ILR experience memorable.

Some are retired professors and professionals. Others are passionate hobbyists or lifelong enthusiasts. What they all share is a genuine desire to share it with their peers.

Interested in becoming an SGL?

We are always looking for enthusiastic, knowledgeable people to join our growing roster of Study Group Leaders. Whether you have a subject you’ve always wanted to teach, a skill you’d love to demonstrate, or simply an idea for a great course, we want to hear from you. And if you know someone in your life who would make a wonderful SGL, we’d love to hear about them too.

Reach out to our Curriculum Committee — we’d be delighted to welcome you to the team.
